Mary Ann Hart 1837 Robert Strathmore (January 1869) Married expiree Joseph Ledger, alias Sowden, in Perth (18/9/1869). They had no children. Ledger/Sowden was a nail maker, tinsmith and blacksmith, and he later ran a hardware store (Perth), importing and selling general household goods; he also manufactured tinware and ironware. Died of tuberculosis at the age of 54, in early 1890. Buried in East Perth Cemetery, with a large headstone at the grave.
Catherine Hartigan 1850 Strathmore (January 1869) Married expiree Charles Ware in Fremantle (8/9/1872), and a stillborn son was born the same year. Ware died from drowning (suicide) on 15/3/1875, and Catherine remarried William Wilson (Weir) the same year in Fremantle. Catherine and her second husband left the colony (1878?) and returned in January 1880. Her first husband left her property in Fremantle, but in 1881, a claimant, his brother brought a case against her for this.
Catherine Hartigan 1848, 1850 Michael and Mary Strathmore (January 1869) Married Arthur Johnson (13/3/1870). Children: Mary Anne, Emily Cecilia, Sarah Jane, Thomas Edward, Arthur Isaac, Catherine Agnes, Charles Henry, William Herbert, Francis Cornelius, Helen Augusta and Herbert Victor. Four of their children (Emily Cecilia, Thomas Edward, William Herbert and Helen Augusta) died in childhood. Catherine died by suicide (strychnine) on 21/12/1890 in Northampton.
Biddy Hastings c. 1831 Limerick William and Mary nee Duhigg. RC Travancore Married John Cumming CP 1854 in Fremantle; 5 children. Lived in Fremantle; John was a storekeeper and shipping agent. She died in East Perth, 12 January 1918 9story in the Western Mail on 18 january, and a Sunday Times article 13 January. She was buried in Fremantle cemetery.

Biddy Hayes c. 1827 RC Travancore
Bridget 'Biddy' Hayes ? She was 17 on arrival in Fremantle. Kerry Cornelius Hayes and Mary Mahoney RC Clara (?) Married David Elder (January 1854, witnessed by Mary Cashman and John William Godfrey); they had 12 children, 4 of which died in their first months. She was a farmers wife. Her husband David was Scottish, and had been transported to Australia at 17 after stealing a glove. After her death, he remarried and changed his name to David Elder Menzies. He died and was buried in Moora (7th October 1913), and Died on 1st February 1882 (at 46 years old), of dysentery; buried in New Norcia cemetery (unmarked grave). A death notice ("Mrs D. Elder") appeared in the Inquirer & Commercial News Perth (15/2/1882).

Helen Heartley (possibly Hartley) John (of Ireland) RC Shanghai (1856) Married freeman Samuel Lakeman in Perth RC on 29/7/1857. He was born on 15/1/1835, and arrived on the Mary in March 1852. They had 2 children: Henry Charles and Jemima (both baptised in Jarrahdale). He was a farmer in the Murray and Serpentine in the 1860 In 1884, Samuel Lakeman applied for a 1000 acreage leasehold; by 1868 he held 2000 pastoral lease and 40 acres of freehold land around Cockburn. He employed 2 TL men (1869 and 1874). She died on 31/8/1881

Mary Heffernan, Hefferan c. 1846-1849 Ireland John and Mary Hefferan RC Tartar (14/1/1868) She married enrolled pensioner Patrick Donnelly in Fremantle (8/6/1869). They had 9 children: John Henry, Patrick Thomas, Christopher, Agnes Mary, William Thomas, Charles, Julie, William Joseph, Robert Augustus. When she arrived, Mary was a 19 year old domestic servant. She died on 24/8/1932 in West Perth (buried in RC section of Karrakatta cemetery). Her husband had died 25/4/1890 at Wittenoom Street Perth (was buried at East Perth cemetery).
Mary Hehir, Heir 1838 Limerick Timothy RC Sabrina (June 1853) She married free man James George Biddle on 10/51855 in Northam, and they had 7 children: George James, Esther, James, William, Mary, David and Julia Louisa. When her husband died in 1879, she remarried to Cornelius Beard (in Perth, 1898). Her first husband, James George Biddle, was a blacksmith and small farmer in Northam. She died on 7/1/1921 at about age 83 in Northam, and there was an article in the Northam Courier (14/1/1921), which stated that she had been buried in the RC section of the Northam cemetery.
Catherine Hennessey 1856 William and Bridget (nee Coahey) Strathmore (January 1869) Married expiree John Shaw (20/9/1869), then William Wingfield (21/1/1872) and Louis Peters (1890). With Wingfield, she had three children: Mary Charlotte Wingfield (1872–1876), Sarah Wingfield Jackman (1874–1925), and Mary Ann Wingfield (1877–1883). Catherine died at the age on 12/11/1923, at the age of 66-67. She had been living in Perth at the time, and was buried in Karrakatta Cemetery.

She then married William Hiscox on 18/9/1871 in Albany, and then remarried a third time to William Wingfield, also in Albany, on 21/1/1872 Children were Mary Charlotte Wingfield (1872–1876), Sarah Wingfield Jackman (1874–1925) and Mary Ann Wingfield (1877–1883) Died in Perth, 12/11/1923 (aged 66–67). Buried in Karrakatta cemetery.

Ellen Hogan 1836 Cork RC Sabrina (June 1853) Married free man Lawrence Sinclair in Fremantle RC on 25/4/1857. They had 2 sons (one named George), and 2 daughters (Mrs T Thompson and Mrs G Wyndham). She was listed as a dressmaker from Cork. Lawrence Sinclair was from the Shetland Islands, and he worked as a 'tidewaiter' (customs inspector) in Fremantle, before joining the water police as a coxswain. Ellen died in an accidental fire at her daughter's home on 30/8/1913 (this was reported a few days later in the West Australian). She was buried in Fremantle cemetery with her husband (he had died in 1900 at the family home in Beaufort Street, Perth).

They had 3 children: Mary Elizabeth 1/9/1858 Fremantle, Robert Michael 31/3/ 1860 Fremantle, and John Joseph c.1870. Her husband Randall died in July 1898 in Goodwood Adelaide South Australia. She died on 24th October 1909 Wagin (as Mary Ann Holgate Weston)

Mary Margaret Jackman 1830 Kilkenny Martin Jackman and Anty Corken RC Sabrina (June 1853) She married expiree George Walker in Perth on 30/8/1853. They had 4 children: Mary, Margaret, Edward George and Margaret. After her husband died in 1862, she was remarried, to James Harris (in 1864) and had 4 more children: Ann, Clara, Harriet, and Ellen. Her second husband, James Harris, died in 1905. Margaret Jackman died in Perth on 29/10/1907 (aged 77–78), and was buried in Karrakatta cemetery.

Catherine Joyce 1844 Edward and Maria RC Burlington (April 1863) Married Michael Delany in Perth, 27/7/1865; they had 10 children: Mary, Fanny, Catherine, William, Michael, John, Edward Patrick, Agnes, Mary Jane and Ellen Maud. Her husband died by accidental drowning in the Helena River (Guildford) on 3/8/1884 at about age 45. He had arrived (free) on the Tartar in 1862. As his widow ("of good character"), she was granted poor relief and rations upon his death. She died on 23/2/1911 at about age 67 in Perth, and was buried in Karrakatta cemetery. A notice appeared in the West Australian about it (3/3/1911).

Margaret Kavanagh 1829 Dublin Michael and Elizabeth. Sabrina (June 1853) Arrived with her sister Mary. She married expiree Joseph Bryant on 13/4/1854. He died at sea in 1870, and she lived as de facto to expiree Francis Donaldson, who had a wife and child in England.

Farmed Albany, Kendenup and Norlup (Blackwood), which was on the road between Albany and Bunbury; was listed by Salvado in Albany 1854. Died in Bunbury 25/9/1875; article in the West Australian Times (15/10/1875).

He had been born in 1822 (son of Nathaniel Richard Reader), and arrived in Western Australia on the William Jardine in August 1852. He died on 1 November 1896 in Toodyay. She had a sister, Winifred.

Children cont: John (1865), Edward (1867), Daniel (1869), Richard (1873), Rachel (1873) Died on 5/5/1901. She and her husband were buried in East Perth cemetery (RC section). He had died on 27/5/1893 in Perth

Possible sister or relative of B20 Mary Kennedy; Henry also arrived on Travancore; Listed by Salvado 1854 in Toodyay; Henry, Bridget and Jacob Wilkins at Mrs Macnoe's house; he was a labourer in Toodyay and York. She died on 5/10/1900 in Stirling Street Perth; story in the West Australian on 5/10/1901; written by husband and daughters Elizabeth, Mary and Maria; He died in 1918.

She married expiree Edward O'Dea on 25/9/1859 in Toodyay. They had 10 children. Children: Mary Ann (1860-1936), Patrick Michael (1862-1927), Michael (1864-1943), Edward (1865-1942), Thomas (1867-1931), John (1869), Eliza (1871), James (1873), William (1873), Margaret (1876) and Anne (1878) Died on 13/4/1921 in Northam (aged 85).
Catherine Kensley 1826 (?) James and Elizabeth Shanghai (November 1856) Married ex-soldier (redcoat) Denis Brennan in Perth, 20/11/1856. They had 7 children: Margarita (1857), James (1859), William (1861), Mary Ann (1863), John Edward (1865), Denis (1867), and George (1869). All born in Perth. Brennan was a policeman in Champions Bay (1860), then a storekeeper in Perth (1864), with a shop on the corner of Pier and Goderich Street; he then went on to be a grocer and draper (1866), and importer (1873). He died in June 1884. She died on 9/6/1896 in Perth (Roe Street), with an article appearing in the West Australian on the 25th of that month. She was aged about 70, and was widowed by that time.

They had 9 children: Patrick James, Mary Ellen, Ann, Dennis William, Catherine, Ambrose James, Patrick John, Louis Sylvester, and Florence. Her husband was in the 15th regiment, and had served in Canada and Ceylon, He was born c. 1815 in Dungwen Newtown Lamavady (Derry) in Ireland. She died on 28/11/1910 Fremantle (buried in RC section of the Fremantle cemetery); her husband had died in 1880.
Maria Kilmartin 1825 Berkshire (March 1855) Married Richard Trayhorne in Perth, 3/6/1858. Her husband Richard died 15/12/1871 after a short illness (aged 67), leaving her destitute. She applied for Government Assistance on numerous occasions, and was recommended for the Poorhouse in 1875. Died in Perth, 1899, aged about 87

Emigrated from Kilmore; he was a farm labourer in Upper Swan, Toodyay and 167b Roe Street, Perth. Died 21/6/1898 in Perth Public Hospital and was buried in East Perth Cemetery.

They had 3 children: John Patrick Lewis (1858-?), Julia Mary Lewis (1862-?) and Maria Elizabeth (Lewis) Moriarty (1866-1945). She remarried Francis Best in Bridgetown, 18/5/1878 Died in Bridgetown on 15/7/1904 (aged about 73)
Bridget Landy 1850 Richard and Margaret RC Strathmore (January 1869) She married expiree James Austin McDermott (1/4/1872), and they had 2 children: John (1873, Toodyay) and Mary Ann (1875, Northampton, died at 2 months). Married Joseph Lovatt on 17/10/1880 in Northampton; children: Elizabeth Veronica and Josephine Mary. Her first husband McDermott was a carpenter, boatman, miner, sawyer, and teamster. In 1876, it was rumoured that Bridget was already living with Lovatt, and in April that year, McDermott was accused of assault after a fight broke out with her over this.
Jude Leahy c. 1832 RC Travancore Married Denis Connell (TIL) in Vasse/Busselton, 1856; they had 7 children. Left Denis mid-1887, as he was experiencing mental health problems and later committed suicide; covered in the Inquirer and Commercial News 28/9/1887; she emigrated from Ardoughter; they farmed at Ludlow. Died 1911.
Mary Leonard 1839 Strathmore (January 1869) Married expiree Philip Wall, 1/1/1870 in Geraldton (Wesly). He had a wife and child in the UK. He and Mary had 3 children: Henry (born and died 1871, Greenough), Hannah (born 1874, Dongara, died at 6 months), and Helena (born and died 1877, Dongara). Philip Wall worked as a carpenter in Irwin (1870s); he was admitted to Mt Elize invalid depot with bad eyes (1888) and his wife applied for relief funds. He died in Perth Old Men’s Home in 1904.
