She was a farmers wife. Her husband David was Scottish, and had been transported to Australia at 17 after stealing a glove. After her death, he remarried and changed his name to David Elder Menzies. He died and was buried in Moora (7th October 1913), and
Death
Died on 1st February 1882 (at 46 years old), of dysentery; buried in New Norcia cemetery (unmarked grave). A death notice ("Mrs D. Elder") appeared in the Inquirer & Commercial News Perth (15/2/1882).
