She married free man John Hayes in Albany on 20/3/1854. They had 5 children: Margaret, John, Mary Ann, Elizabeth and James.

John Hayes was was a ship's apprentice who left ship at Fremantle, and later became a fisherman at Albany, where he also supplied the mail boats. Their first son, John Hayes, was killed in 1890 in a shooting accident while skinning a seal.
Death
She died in Albany on 13/7/1899, and is buried in the RC section of Albany Memorial cemetery. Her husband died on 28/7/1916 at about age 87 in Torbay, WA.
